Your files are stored on a storage drive connected to the BuckitUp. This is referred to as the main drive. All content of the main drive is automatically synchronized to the internal memory of the microSD - system drive, also referred to as the internal drive.
This default synchronization means that at all times, if there is provided enough disc space on the internal microSD, all data will be replicating both sides from main to the internal drive and vice versa. When out of memory new data obviously wouldn’t add to that drive and if other storage isn’t available the system goes to the read only mode, nothing can be added or modified in this case.
Additional backup is essential for true storage redundancy. To synchronize the files you simply need to insert another storage drive and automatic synchronization starts instantly. As the process is ongoing, you will be able to see the floppy icon in screen corner:
When the floppy icon is disappeared, you can be sure your files have been fully synchronized.
If you are interested in how to synchronize two different BuckitUp devices using secure tunneling over the internet, see this section of the manual.
